As Sr. Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions, you will work closely with leaders across the enterprise to support all aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic business growth initiatives.What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities in supporting Mergers & Acquisitions will be:Research & StrategyResearch potential targets, competitors, and growth opportunities. This may include gathering public information and performing market researchSupport and drive annual Strategy Planning process across business units, segments, and corporateFinancial Analysis & Deal ModelingUse financial models and analysis to assess the viability of potential deals, and to create models for valuation metricsConduct thorough analysis of financial data, including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, cost reports, and risk assessmentsPrepare financial models and forecastsFinancial PlanningDevelop or support the development of business plans that outline the strategic direction and financial forecasts, inclusive of synergies, for companies after a merger or acquisitionDue DiligenceLead the due diligence process to verify the financial, legal, and operational aspects of a target companyPerform financial due diligence and valuations in support of deal completionManage deal and due diligence processesMaintain thorough knowledge of the M&A process and strategic project managementDeal ExecutionEnsure that all legal and financial aspects of a deal are in order, and that the deal is executed seamlesslyParticipate in and support negotiations for mergers and acquisitionsPrepare transaction related presentation materials for management and board of directorsSupport deal closing process and participate and/or support post-closing Integration planning and execution OtherSupport the Mergers & Acquisitions functionMaintain relationships with 3rd party services and investment advisorsWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience5 - 7 years of applicable experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate developmentAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsProficient financial modeling, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail as well as strong business acumen, and the ability to present results to diverse audiences and communicate effectivelyStrong communication, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise mannerDemonstrated experience in project management and ability to learn new business models or industriesAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExperience within a publicly traded company and/or manufacturing companyEducation & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business managementMaster’s degree preferredTravel & Working EnvironmentWe support a hybrid schedule and recommend being on-site the majority of the week (4+ days) to maximize collaboration and access to resources.Up to 25% TravelHow We Live Our CultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
