Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and organized CAD Technician I to support our engineering department operations. This is primarily an in-office position at our Westbrook, ME location, with remote work options available during adverse weather conditions. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Pay is commensurate with experience of applicant. Key Responsibilities Draft and prepare shop drawings which consist of floor plans, riser diagrams, calculations Prepare submittal packages as part of the fire alarm engineering department Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times Manage and update customer records and account information Prepare documents, reports, and correspondence using Microsoft Word and Excel Handle email communication with customers, vendors, and internal staff Use web-based platforms and company software to support office operations Dress in appropriate attire, maintain clean and neat grooming consistent with safe and professional workplace standards Qualifications Minimum Associate degree required Strong overall computer skills and confidence learning new software and technology are required Strong working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT (2D drafting) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, data entry, basic formulas, and organization of data) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and or Google Mail, Calendar Comfortable using Windows operating systems, email platforms, and web browsers Strong phone etiquette and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive customer information with confidentiality Resume required Knowledge of NFPA 1, 13, 13D, 13R, 70, 72, 101, or the ICC International Building Code is optional, but preferred Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Access Control, Surveillance, Area of Refuge and Intrusion systems is optional, but preferred NICET Certified Candidates a plus Work Environment Office-based role in Westbrook, Maine Remote work permitted during severe or unsafe weather conditions Collaborative team atmosphere Opportunities for growth within the company Conveniently located very close to I-95 Exit 46 and the Maine Mall area Benefits Health insurance (100% employer-paid for employee coverage) Simple IRA retirement plan Short-term and long-term disability coverage Life insurance 9 paid holidays per year Two weeks of paid time off (PTO) Vision Insurance Dental Insurance We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
