The organization partners with local schools, social services, and healthcare providers to holistically support children and their families.Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, on-site role for a Daycare Assistant/Floater at our facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Daycare Assistant/Floater will assist in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children, supporting daily activities, overseeing playtime, nap times, and meal assistance. The role will also involve supporting lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate educational and creative activities, fostering positive interactions, and ensuring cleanliness and healthy hygiene practices throughout the center. The Daycare Assistant may also assist in other classrooms as needed to ensure smooth center operations and provide additional support where necessary.QualificationsStrong listening and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.Proficiency in maintaining hygiene and ensuring the safety of children.Creativity skills to engage children in fun and educational activities.Experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred.Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children.High School Diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in early childhood education is a plus.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to different classroom environments.
