Trailer Mechanic

Job DescriptionA local Transport Refrigeration and Semi-Trailer dealer and repair company is growing and is looking to fill a Trailer Mechanic Position.Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pmResponsibilities:Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing semi-trailer bodies, systems, and components. Performing preventative maintenance measures on semi-trucks and trailersMaintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required. Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tiresChecking and repairing the brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems. Testing all systems and equipment for performance issuesEnsuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation’s road safety requirements. Compiling inspection reports, documenting reports, and reporting all findings to management. Responding as soon as possible to client queries. Requirements:National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)A minimum of 1 year experience as a trailer mechanicA valid driver’s licenseIn-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, such as hydraulics, air-breaks, and electrical systemsExceptional understanding of mechanical and technical informationStrong verbal and written communication skills.
