The Director – Architecture Strategy & Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving large-scale modernization and digital transformation across Wealth Management and Retail Banking platforms. This role provides enterprise-wide architectural leadership to define and execute target-state architectures, enabling scalable, secure, and client-centric platforms across:Wealth Management & AdvisoryDigital Wealth PlatformsRetail BankingLending EcosystemsThe role combines deep domain expertise with modern architecture practices to accelerate delivery of next-generation banking and wealth capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesTransformation Strategy & LeadershipDefine and execute multi-year transformation roadmaps across wealth and retail bankingDrive legacy modernization (mainframe to cloud-native, monolith to microservices)Align architecture strategy with business priorities including:Digital wealth growthLending transformationClient experience modernizationAct as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leadershipTarget-State Architecture & ModernizationDefine target architectures leveraging:Cloud-native platformsAPI-first and microservices architecturesEvent-driven systemsLead architecture for:Wealth and advisory platformsDigital banking and advisor channelsLending (origination and servicing)Establish architecture standards, patterns, and governanceWealth & Banking Domain ArchitectureDriving architecture transformation towards target state:Portfolio management, trading, and advisory platformsDigital wealth (mobile/web, personalization)Core banking (deposits, payments, integration)Lending systems (origination, servicing, credit decisioning)Enable omnichannel client and advisor experiencesRisk, Security & GovernanceEnsure compliance with:Regulatory standards (SEC, FINRA, OCC)Data privacy (GDPR, CCPA)Embed:Secure-by-design and Zero Trust principlesIdentity and access managementLead architecture governance and design authorityLeadership & Organizational ImpactLead and Collaborate with multiple architecture teams and managersOversee budgeting, planning, and resource strategyDrive standards, best practices, and technical debt reductionInfluence senior stakeholders and executives across business and technologyMentor architects and foster a culture of innovation and accountabilityQualificationsExperience15+ years of experience in technology, including architecture leadership rolesProven track record delivering large-scale transformation initiatives in:Wealth ManagementRetail Banking and LendingTechnical & Domain ExpertiseStrong experience with:Modern architecture (cloud, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems)Wealth platforms (advisory, portfolio management, trading)Digital banking and lending ecosystemsDeep understanding of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and data platformsLeadership SkillsStrong executive communication and stakeholder influenceAbility to manage complex, cross-functional teams and prioritiesStrategic thinking with strong execution focusEducation:Bachelor’s/University degree on Computer Science or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Technology------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Architecture------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:Irving Texas United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$170,000.00 - $300,000.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
