Role: Design EngineerLocation: Springfield, Missouri – OnsiteDuration: 12 MonthsRate: $30-$35/hr on W2 (Negotiable - depends on experience)Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Design Engineer with strong expertise in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE to support new product development and engineering design activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing complex 3D models, surface and solid geometry, assemblies, engineering drawings, and product design changes.This role requires strong mechanical design fundamentals and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Experience in boat, yacht, or marine vessel design is highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and modify complex 3D CAD models for New Product Development using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.Create advanced surface and solid models using Generative Shape Design (GSD) techniques.Build, manage, and validate assemblies for fit, function, manufacturability, and performance.Perform design optimization and implement engineering changes based on product and manufacturing requirements.Create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T and production documentation.Support Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, and Engineering Change Notices while maintaining design data integrity.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.Ensure designs meet customer requirements, engineering standards, manufacturing needs, and PLM processes.Support design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement activities.Required SkillsB.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.Strong hands-on experience with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.Experience creating complex 3D solid and surface models.Strong knowledge of Generative Shape Design (GSD).Experience with assembly modeling and engineering drawing creation.Good understanding of GD&T and manufacturing drawings.Experience managing engineering changes through ECR/ECO/ECN processes.Strong understanding of product development and PLM processes.Experience with boat, yacht, or marine vessel design is a plus.
