Internal Audit-Data Strategy & Analytics-Dallas-Associate
What You'll Do
Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications, services, and automation that power analytical and audit workflows.
Build and expose well-documented, secure RESTful APIs (Flask or similar frameworks) that serve data to internal applications and downstream consumers.
Develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces using React and JavaScript , translating business requirements and wireframes into production-grade components.
Design and refine data models- logical and physical- and write efficient SQL to support reporting, analytics, and application needs.
Manage source control, code reviews, and automated build/test/deploy workflows in GitLab , contributing to and improving CI/CD pipelines .
Package and deploy applications to containerized environments, working with the platform team to promote code across environments reliably and repeatably.
Champion engineering quality through unit tests, integration tests, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) .
Partner closely with product owners, and audit stakeholders in a global, distributed Agile/Scrum setting to deliver iteratively.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Overall Experience: 3–5 years of professional software engineer experience.
Python: 3-5 years of strong, hands-on Python development experience building production applications and exposure to data analytics tooling (pandas, NumPy ).
Front-End: 1-2 years of hands-on experience building UIs with React and modern JavaScript.
SQL & Data Modelling: Solid SQL skills and a good understanding of data modelling concepts- normalization, relational/dimensional design, schema evolution, and query performance.
Version Control & DevOps: Hands-on experience with GitLab and strong grasp of core Git concepts (branching strategies, merge requests, rebasing, conflict resolution) plus practical exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
Testing: Demonstrated experience implementing unit tests, integration tests, and applying Test-Driven Development.
Ways of Working: Proven track record operating in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum setup with a global/remote team.
Preferred / Good to Have
Experience designing and developing Flask-based REST APIs (or FastAPI/Django REST Framework).
Working knowledge of deploying code to a Kubernetes cluster- building container images, writing/maintaining deployment manifests or Helm charts, and troubleshooting pods, services, and rollouts.
Experience with containerization using Docker and automating deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with API design best practices- versioning, authentication/authorization, pagination, error handling, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
Understanding of cloud platforms such as Snowflake.
Prior experience in financial services, risk, or Internal Audit domains.
