The Assistant Manager – Senior Housing Property Accounting plays a key role in managing property-level cash activity and ensuring accurate, compliant financial reporting across Welltower's senior housing portfolio. This role operates at the intersection of treasury, property accounting, and operations, with primary responsibility for cash management, bank activity, and property-level liquidity while ensuring financial results roll up accurately to corporate reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong senior housing or real estate property accounting experience, familiarity with SOX-controlled environments, and the ability to translate complex property cash flows into clear, supportable financial outcomes at both the property and corporate level. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily and monthly property-level cash activity across the senior housing portfolio, monitoring cash receipts, disbursements, and intercompany movements, partnering with Corporate Treasury on cash forecasting and liquidity planning, overseeing monthly close and financial reporting, providing technical guidance to Property Accountants, serving as a process owner for SOX controls, ensuring consistent control execution, driving standardization and continuous improvement in cash management and property accounting processes, and managing and developing Property Accounting team members. Other duties may include supporting quarterly and annual audits, ensuring property-level outputs align with corporate reporting timelines, and establishing expectations for reconciliation quality and audit readiness. Travel may be expected for some out of area and overnight trips. Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 7+ years of accounting experience, strong experience with cash management, bank reconciliations, intercompany activity, and property-level financial reporting, experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment, experience supporting external audits, demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals, CPA or equivalent professional certification, experience with public REITs or other large, complex real estate organizations, familiarity with corporate treasury functions, experience working with large ERP systems and property accounting platforms, and prior experience in healthcare or senior housing environments.
