Overview
In this role you will develop embedded software for AES Cabin Electronics products, contributing to production systems and field support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze designs, test changes, and drive product improvements with a focus on quality, reliability, and manufacturability. You will handle DO-178C compliant artifacts and work hands-on with hardware to verify core requirements. ResponsibilitiesPerform software engineering for non-flight critical aircraft products and systems in productionInvestigate field-related problems and verify design changes through testingReview failure trend data and implement product improvementsDevelop software artifacts compliant with DO-178C (Level D) processesServe as Subject Matter Expert for software components across multiple productsUpdate software requirements, architecture, design documents, and verification test plans/proceduresIntegrate and test software with hardware with Product Support teamsParticipate in peer reviews with cross-functional teamsProvide accurate task estimates to meet customer commitmentsDocument root cause analyses and corrective actions for internal and customer-facing audiencesIdentify and implement improvements to internal development processesLead or mentor within software projects (preferred)
Key requirements5+ years of embedded software development and troubleshootingProficiency in C, C++, Python or similarExperience with RTCA DO-178CFamiliarity with Software Configuration Management and issue-tracking tools (StarTeam, Polarion or similar)Knowledge of UART, RS-485, ARINC 429 (plus)Embedded Linux experience and device trees (desirable)Experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers)Strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to analyze complex software engineering problems and provide innovative solutionsAerospace industry experience (highly desired)strong verbal and written communicationcollaborative teamworkproblem solving and analytical thinkingC, C++, PythonRTCA DO-178CEmbedded Linux, device trees
