Sr Engineer - Reliability Rotating Equipment
Position SummaryThis position is expected to provide safe, cost effective and timely engineered solutions for support of productions, maintenance, and all other operating departments within the nitrogen plant. Will also provide technical rotating equipment engineering support to the plant; define/manage/install maintenance projects, interface with capital group as required; and perform engineering studies, advise, and make recommendations for all departments on plant rotating equipment.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering requiredPreferred minimum category II ISO 18436-2 compliant vibration analyst certification from an accredited certification bodyExperience Requirements6+ years rotating equipment engineering experience in chemical processing or refining industriesExperience in rotating equipment selection and applicationsExperience providing oversight & technical support to the overhaul of turbomachinery and reciprocating compressor systemsExperience with industrial lubrication systems and trouble shootingExperience troubleshooting and recommending improvement to mechanical seal installationsSupporting knowledge of mechanical and piping systemsGood communication skills including ability to read, interpret, create and update; prints, drawings, schematics and diagramsKnowledge of computer operation and versed in MS Word, MS ExcelFluent in English, oral and written required.Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.Major AccountabilitiesDefine scope, estimate costs, time spans, and advisability of engineering projects, capital authorization, repairs, replacements, etc., and makes appropriate recommendationsPerform detailed engineering designs and supervision of drafting effortsComplete requisitions that are necessary for materials and equipmentDirects the erection and/or installation of equipment and facilities related to rotating equipmentContacts, interviews, and requests bids from vendors, engineering consultants, contractors, and other outside organizations as needed.Supervises contractor and /or plant personnel to complete work according engineering specifications in a timely mannerAnalyzes and makes recommendations on maintenance of equipment and spare parts storage requirementsDevelops and updates Rotating Equipment StandardsLeads/participates Root Cause Failure Analysis investigationsCommunicates progress and information to appropriate personnel in a timely mannerRegularly communicates with supervisor work progress, concerns and questionsProvides training for plant personnel on an as-needed basisProvides leadership and positive reinforcement of company goals and valuesPerforms other duties as assignedExposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.EXPECTED RESULTSAbility and desire to keep up to date with technological developments in the fieldAll work performed safely and efficientlyDelivers maintenance work on schedule and communicates any deficienciesWork schedules are met on time without the need for reworkProduction maximized with outages minimizedImprove availability, reliability and performance of rotating equipmentManage AFE projects cost and quality control and remain on scheduleAdherence to all company policies and proceduresApplicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
