Salud began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront "free clinic," and with a growing need for health services, in 1992 became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Today Salud is a primary health care network with 11 clinic sites and over 400 employees. We provide high quality services to patients of all ages. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package and a collaborative culture that values excellence, achievement, innovation and compassion.We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate Family Practice Physician (ACMO) who will work with the medical team to fulfill our mission to provide high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare responsive to the needs of the community we serve. The Family Practice Physician will perform duties and responsibilities of a Family Practice Physician under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and in close working relationship with the Clinic Manager.Enjoy all the recreational and cultural amenities of coastal living! Easy access to Monterey area and airport.Glance at the Facts:Flexible schedules with 4 day work weekFull time/part time optionsAll outpatientOpportunity to care for a full spectrum family practice panel, including dedicated pediatrics time, if desiredSee 20 patients per dayTrue primary care medical home with dental, optometry, behavioral health on site as well as robust community health services departmentHealthy Steps site, parent educators on staff, lactation on siteWork with amazing colleagues with similar passion for community healthDiabetic nurse educator on site and MAT programDirect Patient Care:Develop a panel of patients to provide comprehensive health care in an attentive and conscientious mannerPerform direct patient care, including history taking, physical examination, lab and radiology ordering and interpretation, prescription of medications, immunizations and lifestyle modifications using established medical guidelinesPerform procedures per documented training and clinical privilegesCollaborate with supporting services at Salud to provide holistic care to patients, including but not limited to Community Health Services, Pediatrics, OB, Behavioral Health, Dental, etc.Refer secondary conditions to specialists when appropriateInstitute emergency measures in life-threatening situationsRecord all medical encounters in a timely and complete manner in the electronic health recordWork with scheduling and management staff to ensure provider productivity standardsProfessional Conduct:Adhere to clinic communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners.Communicate respectfully and effectively with people of different racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and lifestylesDemonstrate professional and productive collaboration with healthcare teamMay assist with recruitment of physicians/advanced practice cliniciansMay form liaisons with appropriate professional societies, educational institutions and community organizations to enhance clinic ability to deliver medical care to target population.Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement efforts and safety, environmental and infection control standardsMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state patient confidentiality lawsOther duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Valid California Physician's License Maintains an updated CPR certificate, valid California driver's license, and valid DEA license; submits copies of renewed licenses and certificates to Human Resources.Board Certified or Board Qualified in Family Medicine, preferred.Ability to obtain/maintain hospital admitting privileges at local hospital.Desirable Qualifications:Fluent Spanish/English.Bi-cultural Spanish/EnglishSalud is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
