Our mission is the relentless pursuit of enriching our clients’ lives through technology, innovation and an unyielding commitment to 24/7 reliable client service.JOB SUMMARY:The Security Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining residential and small-commercial security systems, including intrusion alarms, surveillance systems, sensors, life-safety devices, and related connected technologies.This role works closely with the Site Superintendent, Project Coordinator, and Service Coordinator to deliver high-quality installations, excellent client communication, and a consistent SAV-level client experience.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Security System Installation & SetupInstall and wire security panels, keypads, sensors, life safety devices, door/window contacts, sirens, and related hardware. Install, mount, and configure cameras, NVRs, network devices, and remote monitoring components. Perform trim-out, labelling, cable dressing, device addressing, and activation. Assist with system programming, setup, and testing for functionality and reliability. Jobsite Execution & ProfessionalismFollow established SAV installation standards, construction protocols, safety practices, and site cleanliness procedures. Read and interpret project documentation, plans, and device locations to complete installations accurately. Maintain a professional appearance, communication style, and client-facing etiquette consistent with SAV standards. Work with other technicians, contractors, and builders to ensure timelines and scopes stay aligned. Troubleshooting & Service SupportIdentify, diagnose, and correct system issues with alarm systems, cameras, sensors, and low-voltage wiring. Document work performed and communicate clearly with the Project Coordinator and Service Coordinator for follow-up needs. Provide on-site support for system updates, device replacement, small service calls, and client education. Documentation & ReportingTrack work completed using SAV processes and tools (e.g., Wrike, Q360, or equivalents). Maintain accurate notes, materials usage, serial numbers, and device information. Communicate delays, issues, and project status updates to the Site Superintendent and Coordinators. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Basic to moderate knowledge of alarm systems, surveillance systems, detectors, and related technology components. Familiarity with troubleshooting alarm panels, device enrollment, network-based cameras, and system connectivity. Understanding of low-voltage wiring, cable routing, and proper installation techniques. Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship. Ability to diagnose issues with wiring, devices, or system functionality. Effective communication with clients, builders, teammates, and supervisors. Ability to document work clearly and communicate issues or delays professionally. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, device layouts, and wiring diagrams. Ability to follow project documentation accurately to ensure correct installation and device placement. Ability to work safely on ladders, lifts, in attics, crawl spaces, and typical construction environments. Comfort working in varying temperatures, mechanical spaces, and active job sites. Ability to handle tools, repetitive hand motions, and physically demanding tasks.
