Senior Disaster Recovery Specialist

We're looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery (DR) Consultant to provide execution-focused support in strengthening our enterprise disaster recovery capabilities. This role will focus on enhancing recovery planning, improving testing and validation practices, and strengthening second-line-of-defense oversight to ensure critical systems can be effectively recovered during disruption scenarios.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Technology, Infrastructure, and Application teams to review and enhance DR plansValidate recovery strategies, including RTOs, RPOs, application recovery, and infrastructure failover capabilitiesIdentify gaps in recovery readiness related to dependencies, data integrity, and environment availabilitySupport design and execution of DR testing, including failover exercises, tabletop exercises, and simulationsAssess recovery procedures and recommend practical improvementsEnsure DR plans align with critical business services and operational prioritiesPropose governance enhancements to strengthen second line of defense oversightTrack remediation efforts and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholdersSupport audit, regulatory, and internal governance review preparationRequired Qualifications9–10+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, or Technology RiskHands-on experience developing and validating DR plans, including application recovery and infrastructure failoverExperience supporting or executing DR testing initiativesStrong understanding of RTOs, RPOs, data recovery, and system dependenciesAbility to work effectively with technology, infrastructure, and business teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in financial services or other regulated industriesFamiliarity with cyber recovery and ransomware recovery scenariosExperience aligning DR with Business Continuity and Critical Business Services frameworksKnowledge of frameworks, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, and the International Organization for Standardization
