Network Engineer

Network EngineerRandstad is seeking network engineers able to participate in network refresh project(s). Successful candidates will have hands-on experience in the following areas: support a larger network team creating configurations for routers, firewalls, wireless access controllers and layer 2 and 3 switches.Required Skills - Ability to survey a current network, create network diagrams, create configurations.Job Duties - Take ownership of the network engineering upgrade part of the project, surveying sites to identify current equipment, current connectivity and documenting, documenting the current environment with a list of current equipment and Visio diagrams, designing / recommending the upgraded network including any additions needed, create Visio diagrams, rack elevations and build of materials for the upgraded network, create the configurations for the new equipment, create new configurations for any current equipment that will remain in place, manage the installation, setup and cut-over of the new equipment into the network, troubleshoot any issues identified during cut-over, update the network management tools after cut-over completion, document new network with Visio and Excel spreadsheets as need, networking abilities include analyzing, designing optimal implementation strategies, implementing and configuring Cisco network hardware. Ability to design and define network infrastructures (LAN/WAN) and data center environments. Strong network troubleshooting and administration experience. Document, manage project plans and deliverables on time. Excellent technical documentation skills including Visio. Must work well and communicate effectively with customers, ability to work independently; a self-starter. Ability to process and execute a project from start to finish. Expected to manage and communicate with clients and vendors directly.Job Requirements - Minimum of 6-8 years of networking and infrastructure assessments, design, and implementation support in enterprise environments. Proven working experience in building and maintaining network systems. Detailed technical knowledge of enterprise network environments including routing protocols. Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls.
