You will be responsible for defining the end-to-end migration strategy and ensuring smooth execution with minimal disruption to business operations.This is a fully remote, project-based role, ideal for a senior freelancer with strong hands-on experience in VMware migrations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and execution of VMware-based infrastructure and workload migrationsDefine and deliver a comprehensive migration strategy, including environment discovery, assessment, and documentationPerform detailed analysis of servers, applications, and interdependenciesAssess storage, networking, and firewall requirementsDevelop detailed migration plans, including wave planning, risk assessments, and rollback strategiesExecute and support pre-migration activities, including remediation and optimizationPerform migrations using tools such as VMware HCX, vMotion, and third-party migration toolsEnsure thorough validation, testing, and post-migration supportMinimize downtime and ensure continuity for business-critical systemsSkills & Experience RequiredStrong hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure migrationsProven expertise in migration planning, assessment, and executionSolid experience with dependency mapping and risk managementHands-on experience with VMware HCX, vMotion, and/or third-party migration toolsStrong understanding of server, storage, networking, and firewall architecturesAbility to work independently in a remote, project-driven environmentStrong documentation and communication skillsFluent English (C1 level)Nice to HaveExperience working in large-scale or enterprise environmentsExposure to hybrid or cloud-related migration projectsPrevious B2B or freelance collaboration experienceWhy Join?Fully remote role within EuropeClearly defined six-month projectHigh-impact migration initiativeFreelance-friendly B2B engagement model
