Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving plumbing problems with toilets, drains, and water lines; installing, repairing, and renovating plumbing-related equipment and water lines; and unstopping toilets, lavatories, drains, and water fountains.Essential FunctionsThe following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Performs preparatory work, including ensuring materials and equipment are available for use when making repairs and inspecting work sites for potential problems.Performs plumbing duties, including installing new equipment in restrooms, such as soap dispensers, toilet paper and towel dispensers; installing, repairing, and renovating plumbing fixtures, such as toilets, drains, and related fixtures; maintaining, repairing, and replacing lavatories, storm drains, water lines, waste lines, ponds, fountains, waterfalls, skimmers, pumps, fountainheads, filters, and hot water heaters; cutting and threading pipes and other materials; and reading and interpreting sketches, layouts, and blueprints.Ensures work performed meets state and local code requirements. Performs site cleanup when jobs are completed, including retrieving debris, gathering tools, cleaning work area, and performing touchup work as needed. Inventories materials and equipment to ensure adequate supply levels.
