Network Engineer

ResponsibilitiesThe individual selected for this position will provide systems/network engineering support to a program that seeks to adopt a phased approach to building infrastructure needed for the deep inspection of AI systems and analysis of large-scale AI models. The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to review and provide feedback on proposed architecture designs, performance optimization, reliability, and security requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Review and provide optimized network design and architecture diagramsCoordinate with cloud service providers such as AWS and/or OracleDeploy industry best practices for securing cloud environmentsCollaborate with project leads and vendors to ensure system design meets Sponsor’s requirementsArchitect and deploy network infrastructure for distributed AI systemsDesign systems that support large-scale model analysis and experimentationBuild infrastructure to enable controlled experiments on LLM behaviorCollaborate with researchers to adapt systems to evolving needsQualificationsMust possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with PolygraphA degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical disciplineBS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7Knowledge of theory and practice underlying LAN/WAN network operationsKnowledge of communications and information security policies and practicesKnowledge of multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.Desired QualificationsKnowledge of the Sponsor’s policies and procedures relating to design, upgrading, operating, and maintaining their networksAbility to work in a dynamic and challenging environmentStrong oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to convey technical information to non-technical individualsExperience designing and managing high-performance, low-latency networksExperience with Linux systems administration and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Knowledge of network security principlesExperience supporting machine learning workloadsExposure to systems analysis or reverse engineering workflowsEEO StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer and federal government contractor.
