Stepdown Registered Nurse | Chaffee, Missouri

Seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN with strong stepdown and cardiac care experience for a contract position on a Cardiac Transitional Care Unit. This opportunity involves delivering high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close cardiac monitoring and support. The role is pivotal in fostering patient safety, supporting recovery, and ensuring clear communication among the healthcare team.Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week Guaranteed 36 hours weekly Rotating weekends (every other weekend required) Contract duration: 13 to 26 weeks (up to 2/1/25)Required Qualifications: Active RN license Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a stepdown or cardiac progressive environment Current ACLS and BLS certifications EPIC EMR familiarity Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills Must be able to float as needed per unit requirements Flu vaccination required between November 1 and April 1 (client-approved exemptions only) Compliance with dress code: black scrubsKey Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized care plans for cardiac stepdown patients Monitor, assess, and document patient status, including vital signs and clinical changes Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform wound care Educate patients and families on condition management, medications, and self-care Maintain infection control and patient safety in compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team Participate actively in safety huddles and bedside shift reports Respond promptly to emergencies, recognizing and managing adverse symptomsThis position offers valuable experience in a fast-paced cardiac care setting, a supportive team environment, and an opportunity to make a significant impact during your assignment.If you are an enthusiastic RN ready to grow your clinical skills and contribute to outstanding patient outcomes, we invite you to submit your application today!
