A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.Opportunity:/nRN - Med Surg/n/nJob Details:/n• Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex/n• Work on medical/surgical unit with stepdown/PCU experience required/n• Must have acute care surgical floor experience with ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred/n• Care for patients pre and post-operatively with experience managing new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT/n• Handle both surgical patients (5:1 ratio) and stepdown area patients (3:1 ratio)/n• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients/n• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments/n• Assist physician in examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures/n• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary/n• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products/n• Interact with family and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and discharge/n• Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff/n• 1 year of nursing experience required/n• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required/n• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred/n• Current RN License issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact license required/n• Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required/n• Strong verbal and written communication skills required/n/nFacility:/nThis major academic medical center serves as a leading healthcare institution providing comprehensive medical services and advanced surgical care.
