Redwood is an equal opportunity employer.Position SummaryRedwood Dev Co. is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to support the execution of multifamily housing developments from initial site identification through construction completion and asset stabilization.The Development Associate will work closely with Senior Development staff and will assist with underwriting, due diligence, financing applications, entitlements, permitting, consultant coordination, construction administration, and project reporting. This position offers significant exposure to all aspects of the real estate development process and provides a strong foundation for future growth into Development Manager and Director-level roles.This entry-level position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment and the ability to propose solutions to ensure deadlines are met.Essential Responsibilities· Coordinate due diligence activities, including environmental, geotechnical, survey, title, utility, entitlement, and permitting efforts, while maintaining tracking logs and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.· Support project underwriting, development budgets, sources and uses, financing applications, and documentation required by lenders, equity investors, and public funding agencies.· Compile documentation required by lenders, equity investors, housing finance agencies, and public funding agencies.· Track financing milestones, closing requirements, regulatory approvals, and post-closing obligations.· Coordinate with municipalities, housing agencies, consultants, and development partners to advance entitlements, zoning approvals, site plan approvals, and permitting.· Assist in procuring and managing architects, engineers, attorneys, contractors, and other consultants, including preparation of RFPs and coordination of project communications.· Support construction and development activities by tracking permitting status, project schedules, construction progress, draw submissions, and key project milestones.· Prepare meeting materials, document project meetings, maintain development records, and organize electronic and physical project files.QualificationsEducation· Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Architecture, Economics, or a related field.Experience· 0–3 years of experience in real estate development, affordable housing, construction, finance, underwriting, architecture, planning, or related fields.· Internship experience in real estate development or affordable housing is highly desirable.Knowledge & Skills· Strong interest in affordable and workforce housing development.· Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD, tax-exempt bond financing, and public-private partnerships is a plus.· Strong analytical and organizational skills.· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.· High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.· Experience with financial modeling and development pro formas is a plus.Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: In person
