Together, we’re building the future we all aspire to – making net zero a reality.Role OverviewThis position is responsible for supporting supply chain personnel with ongoing project supply chain activities. This includes involvement with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, advertising, and other materials. The learning objectives for this internship include a basic understanding of the Procurement Process, from issuing Requests for Quotes to issuing Purchase Orders, monitoring vendor performance, maintaining vendor relations, and working as a team member to ensure on-time delivery of materials and equipment required to support project schedules while obtaining the correct quality and quantity of materials and equipment at the lowest end cost.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand, establish, and issue Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quote (RFQ) for Auxiliary and Balance of Plant (BOP) procurementsEstablish, evaluate, and select suppliers to develop a qualified supplier baseReview and evaluate monthly global sourcing data to make decisions that support company direction and growthReview bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authorityManage contracts to verify vendor compliance to contract requirementsDiscuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective actionPerformance review of suppliers for quality, delivery, and reliabilityEstablish long-term agreements with suppliersSupport major procurement activities including procurement of capital equipment and new projectsProblem solving of BOP and procurement issues as they ariseMaintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, or performanceProvide support to upper management in effort to meet corporate goals, objectives, and projectsPerform other duties as requiredOther Duties And ResponsibilitiesComply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting unsafe activities to Management and/or Human ResourcesParticipate in proactive team efforts and leadership to achieve departmental, company, and individual goals and objectivesContribute to building a positive team spiritCommunicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levelsProtect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third partiesMaintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all timesPerform other duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills & EducationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus but not required.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, engineering drawings, engineering specifications for material, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer SkillsBasic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database. Must have experience with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), PowerPoint.Management SkillsAbility to effectively communicate job tasks, goals, and projects to global sourcing staff as well as manage and delegate when necessary.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentRegularly required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Hearing protection may be recommended and/or required in some areas.
