Our coverage updates every 10 minutes and reaches a combined audience of over 60,000 followers across platforms.Role DescriptionWe're looking for a sharp, self-motivated intern to help strengthen The Piaz's editorial output and grow our digital presence. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in the full cycle of independent journalism, from reviewing and refining articles to building engaged communities across social platforms. You'll work directly with the team and gain real experience in editorial operations, audience development, and media analysis at an independent outlet.ResponsibilitiesReview and proofread articles for accuracy, clarity, tone, and alignment with The Piaz's editorial standards. Flag factual inconsistencies, sourcing gaps, or framing issues before publication.Monitor and engage with followers across Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube. Respond to comments, participate in conversations, and foster a sense of community around our coverage.Develop and execute a growth strategy for our X (Twitter) presence, including consistent posting, engagement with relevant conversations in the media criticism and geopolitics space, and identifying trending topics that align with our coverage areas.Support the expansion of The Piaz's YouTube channel through content ideation, community engagement, and coordination on video publishing schedules.Assist with cross-posting and content distribution across platforms, adapting headlines and copy to fit each channel's format and audience.Track basic engagement metrics and report on what's working and what isn't, with recommendations for adjustments.What You'll GainDirect mentorship from a team of independent journalists and news publication.
