Welder III(Direct Placement for Client)Sigma Design has collaborated with an aerospace and precision manufacturing company seeking an experienced Welder III to join their facility in Clackamas, OR. This company is an aerospace fabrication and machining shop. What Is Offered:Medical, Dental, and Vision paid for by employer, Paid life insurance, 401k, AD&DPTO and Sick time Yearly Bonus Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm$28.00 - $37.00 an hourPrimary Function:The Welder III is responsible for performing advanced welding and fabrication tasks to assemble, repair, and manufacture metal components and structures while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and production standards.Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:Perform advanced TIG, orbital welding, and brazing operations on materials including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and InconelRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to complete fabrication work accuratelyInspect completed welds for quality, structural integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and requirementsMaintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and operational conditionCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support manufacturing schedules and troubleshoot fabrication issuesPerform fit-up, purge techniques, grinding, polishing, and pre/post weld finishing as requiredFollow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)High school diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of a certified welding training program or apprenticeship preferred Minimum of 5 years of professional welding experience preferredExperience with TIG and orbital welding of thin-wall stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbolsExperience working within a manufacturing environment preferredStrong understanding of welding safety standards and quality requirementsAerospace manufacturing or aerospace welding experience preferredAbility to pass applicable welding certification tests as requiredITAR – Must be a US CitizenBackground - Pass a post-offer background verification.Work EnvironmentStandard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
