Associate Director of Financial Reporting

An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their Financial Reporting & Consolidation team as Associate Director.Responsibilities:Manage the month-end and quarter-end close and consolidation activities across multiple business units and affiliated entities, including intercompany activity and foreign currency considerations.Prepare and review financial reporting packages, regulatory filings, and internal management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Support leadership and cross-functional teams with financial analysis, reporting requests, and strategic initiatives as needed.Maintain and enhance financial reporting structures, account mappings, and governance processes to support consistency and scalability across the organization.Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing optimization of financial reporting and consolidation tools, ensuring alignment with operational and reporting requirements.Partner with accounting, finance, operations, and technology teams to improve reporting workflows, data integrity, and internal controls.Support accounting and reporting assessments related to new transactions, products, business initiatives, and organizational changes.Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting efficiency, dashboard development, and management insights.Take an active role in developing scalable reporting processes, documentation, and controls within a dynamic and evolving environment.Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders on matters related to financial reporting and compliance.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or similar certification preferred.8–12+ years of experience within financial reporting, accounting, audit, or related finance functions, ideally within financial services or other complex operating environments.Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles; exposure to international reporting standards is a plus.Experience working within complex organizational structures and large-scale reporting environments preferred.Prior involvement with enterprise reporting systems, financial platforms, or process transformation initiatives highly desirable.Ability to work effectively with auditors, advisors, and senior business stakeholders.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
