Facilities Engineering & EH&S Manager
The Facilities Engineering & EH&S Manager will create, develop, and lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for continual process improvements, supporting quality improvements, improving overall manufacturing efficiencies, and ensuring Environmental Health & Safety compliance in all areas of Operations. Responsible for plant and machine maintenance in a manufacturing facility. Provide technical support and troubleshoot processes to keep a plant running efficiently. This position will also provide maintenance and electrical engineering support for production machinery, equipment, and the physical plant. They will work closely with machine operators and the Maintenance team for feedback on the operations process and determine how to improve efficiency and avoid shutdowns.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the plant maintenance program with special attention to root cause failure analysis to minimize unplanned downtimeDevelop and implement new procedures to improve productivity and quality, including timely CAPEX project initiation and integrationAssists top management in the development, implementation and administration of corporate environmental, health, and safety policies and proceduresDocument processes to standardize plant operationsDetermine facility layout for effective workflowLead directly, or through the Engineering & EH&S team, efforts to maintain regulatory compliance in all areas of environmental and health and safety including the completion and maintenance of all required documentation and records.Lead directly, or through the Engineering & EH&S team, development of EH&S and first-aid training programs and tracking, promoting a “zero injury” workplace.Reviews accident reports to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the accident; advises departments of trends in injuries and proper safety procedures that may result in reduction of injuries; provides department with information that will aid in reducing accidents and improve safety.Supports plant safety and loss controlAccurately maintain records and report on all equipment reliability issues and implement cost effective resolutions to maximize profitabilityMaintain and improve PM program for all equipmentProven track with implementation of TPM programsEnsure compliance with all city and county codesAdhere to all practices, policies, and procedures according to ISO 9001and ISO 14000 requirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATION:Bachelor in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) preferred or the equivalent work experience and skill levelLean Principles experience / Six Sigma8+ years relevant manufacturing experience (plant & facilities engineering and maintenance)Previous work experience and measurable achievement(s) in a functional area of plastics, chemical and/or textile business or similar industryExperience leading Environmental Health & SafetyDefect detection, gauge control, controls/programming experience preferredExperience with hazardous waste materials handling and disposalInvolvement with complex problem-solving projects, from leading to participationLeadership experience with business teams, cross-functional, and operation-basedCooperation, flexibility, and adaptability in a changing environmentCapable of planning and executing projects involving new technologiesExcellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and department-specific software applications (e.g., ERP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Predictive MaintenanceSCADA SystemsAutoCADKnowledge of OSHA, EPA, EDA, DOT regulationsTeam Member issue resolution: union experience preferred
