DescriptionPosition Title: Enhancement SupervisorPosition SummaryThe Enhancement Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising a crew while on the job site and ensuring the crew works safely and efficiently while delivering quality jobs on time. This position is responsible for developing and training crewmembers, assigning and directing work, managing large scale landscape installation operations on assigned projects. This position reports directly to the Operations / Project Manager.Principal ResponsibilitiesDependable; consistently arrives to work on time, responds to management direction and commits to the required hours for job completion that will vary based on weather/season.Performs all job-related tasks safely and efficiently and uses all tools and equipment in accordance with company safety policy.Able to run equipment (skid steer, excavator, backhoe, etc)Able to read architectural drawings.Carries out specific landscape maintenance functions on the job site that can include spraying weed control and other chemical applications requiring license. Stores, transports, mixes and applies chemicals in accordance with the law.Follows installation instructions and plans with the Project and Operations Manager.Assists in loading and unloading equipment, tools, and supplies on truck.Complies with the equipment preventative maintenance program and stores in designated areas daily. Assists in keeping job site, vehicles, trailers, warehouses and offices safe, clean and organized.Informs supervisor of problem areas on site, equipment or supply issues, or of any accident or loss.Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements, especially in the handling of equipment.Works to assure quality and timely completion of all tasks assigned.Participates in training programs as required.Required to safely transport Crew Member’s to and from site in a company vehicle.Performs other duties as required.Review plans and specifications to get familiar with the project.Communicate production goals with crew members.Track and record all job expenses, including materials and labor.Assists Project Manager in removing any road blocks to completion of the project i.e. materials, sub-contractors, clients. Assist Project Manager with management of sub-contractors as needed.Solves technical issues on as-built projects.Informs management of the project schedule (status, budget, problems) on a daily and weekly basis.Conduct regular job site inspections.Ensure all work and materials comply with specifications.Understands the relationship between job quality and customer service, satisfaction and retention.Provides excellent, accurate, complete and timely service to clients, vendors and company staff.Education & Experience Qualifications Minimum of two years of landscape installation experience. High school diploma or GED required. Must have landscape design and presentation capabilities Knowledge of horticultural and Landscape Installation Knowledge of construction site policies and proceedures.Skills & Abilities Qualifications Must be able to effectively communicate in English; bilingual in Spanish highly preferred. Ability to train others and exercise leadership skills. Demonstrates dependability; consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and commits to the required hours for job completion that will vary based on weather/season. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to solve conflict while keeping emotions under control. Ability to plan, organize and direct a team in a manner that uses time efficiently. Has the aptitude to identify and act on opportunities to help and support work efforts of the team. Can safely operate and maintain all equipment used for landscape installation. Valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record. Ability to obtain a DMV Medical Card within 30 days of employment.Environmental Considerations Works around hazardous equipment with moving mechanical parts. Works outside in all weather conditions, including cold, heat, temperature swings. Works around excessive noise from machines, requiring hearing protection. Works in corridors with uneven terrain. May be exposed to nature, i.e. irritating plants and biting or stinging insects. May be exposed to fumes/odors, dust/mites, chemical and/or waste hazards. May be exposed to dogs and other animals. Work may be performed at varying heights above ground.Physical Requirements Must have the ability and endurance to perform tasks for at least 8-hour periods. Must understand and demonstrate proper safety procedures, abiding by all OSHA regulations, with the ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner. Must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
