This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Engineering function. This position will report to Plant Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Assist in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentationImprove process operations by providing technical support and process troubleshootingDevelop process designs and procedures for new productsProvide accurate and detailed reports for tests conductedAssist in reviewing process designs and procedures to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation of the facilityProvide programming assistance for the process control computers in the plantUnderstand and comply with plant safety and environmental policies. Report all safety, environmental and quality risks and hazards and chemical releasesComplete all activities in accordance with good manufacturing practicesLead the facility's continuous improvement program focusing on implementation of Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignmentIn order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:B.S. in Engineering or a related engineering degreeGood written and oral communication skills are required The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit: B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experienceKnowledge in programming PLCs and ladder logic.Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniquesPolymer chemistryBulk powder handling expertise Third-party recruiters and agencies ("Agency") should not contact Ashland employees or employees of its subsidiaries directly.
