JOB TITLE: Sr. Payroll Specialist REPORT TO: HR ManagerABOUT US:Toray Advanced Composites is a leading supplier of thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials for the aerospace and industrial advanced composite industry. The thermoset composites from Toray Advanced Composites are used on satellites, radomes, unmanned aircraft, general aviation and military aircraft. Toray Advanced Composites also provides thermoset composites in high end industrial and recreational applications ranging from oil and gas to prosthetics to sporting equipment. We provide thermoset materials with epoxy, BMI, cyanate ester or high temperature polyimide resin matrices.SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:The Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. This individual is responsible for processing payroll for multiple locations and will coordinate with the site payroll point of contact for processing. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will review the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy and will work closely with our payroll provider to correct any discrepancies. The person in this role will also work closely with individuals in finance to help with any payroll and/or tax reconciliations that are required. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will be the point person for any employee with questions and payroll discrepancies.Please note roles and responsibilities are subject to change with or without advanced notice.MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:Owns and processes payroll and related tasks for multiple locationsEnsures accurate timecard approvals and payroll data integrityProvide advice and guidance on payroll issuesMaintains up to date knowledge of city, state, local and federal legislation affecting payroll; understand and follows applicable provisionsCoordinate payroll discrepancies and issues are escalated and resolved promptlyProcess wage garnishments, tax levies and support ordersProvides Finance with payroll funding and associated tax informationReconcile payroll, 401k and any benefit deductionsReconcile benefit billing with payroll enrollment reportsResponsible for submission and reconciliation of 401k and deferred compensation contributionsProcess any special payout, adjustments and termination checksManager 1095C and W2 processing, including W2 reconciliation and W2 issuanceAssist in annual 401k compliance audit and true-up activityLead responses to audit requests (financial, payroll, 401k and other compliance audits), providing timely and accurate data, reconciliations and supporting documentationReconcile GL and audit GL mapping and resolve any discrepanciesEnsure compliance with payroll and pay practicesEnsure continuous compliance with local, stat, and federal regulations including preparing and filing monthly, quarterly and annual payroll recordsGenerate and analyze payroll reports, including monthly headcount reports (including CFA)Establishes new employer payroll setup in new states as requiredMaintain detailed records including payroll registries, payroll review checklist and other documents for audit and legal complianceSupport continuous improvement of payroll processes and documentation of payroll proceduresEXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, HR or related field preferred or equivalent experienceCPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience with payroll administrationExperience with payroll service providers, ADP Workforce Now preferredComprehensive understanding of California and Colorado pay compliance and lawsExtensive knowledge of federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations, including FLSAExcellent attention to detail and accuracyExcellent interpersonal, communication and organization skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters effectivelyExercise discretion and tact in processing documents and information of a confidential nature in a variety of areas, including payroll administration, benefits and compensationSelf-motivated and have a sense of urgencyMust be able to communicate (written and verbally) in EnglishAdvanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT)Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner BenefitsComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance PlansFSA/HSA Plans AvailablePaid HolidaysGym MembershipTuition Reimbursements401(k) Plan with Company MatchPaid Time OffEmployee Engagement EventsReferral Bonus ProgramLife Insurance and AD&D CoverageShort-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceParental Leave & Paid Family LeavePlus much more!Salary Range: $78,500-106,000 annually DOE
