Sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.Make a City-Wide ImpactWe're partnering with one of the largest municipal transportation organizations in the Southwest to identify a Senior Network Engineer who will play a critical role in supporting and modernizing a large-scale operational technology network that powers critical public infrastructure.This is a highly visible opportunity for a hands-on network engineer who enjoys solving complex connectivity challenges, working in the field, and helping shape the future design of a mission-critical network environment spanning more than 1,300 connected locations across a major metropolitan region.The organization is seeking a technical leader first and foremost. While formal people management is not initially required, the right individual will have the opportunity to mentor team members, influence strategy, and potentially grow into a permanent leadership position.What You'll DoSupport and maintain a large-scale network infrastructure supporting operational technology systems, surveillance devices, and field communications equipmentTroubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues across wired and wireless environmentsManage network segmentation, VLANs, routing, switching, and connectivity across distributed locationsParticipate in ongoing network modernization and future-state architecture initiativesWork closely with engineering teams, external vendors, and stakeholders on infrastructure improvement projectsReview and contribute to network design documentation, diagrams, and technical standardsEvaluate vendor recommendations and provide technical guidance during future network redesign effortsMentor junior technical staff and serve as a trusted technical resource for the teamPresent technical updates and recommendations to leadership and executive stakeholders in an easy-to-understand formatPerform both office-based and field-based troubleshooting activities throughout the metro areaRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on network engineering experienceStrong expertise in:Layer 2 and Layer 3 networkingRouting and switchingVLAN design and implementationNetwork segmentationTroubleshooting complex network environmentsExperience supporting both wired and wireless network infrastructuresAbility to create and maintain network diagrams and technical documentationStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesValid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the region for field support activitiesMust be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Juniper networking technologiesExperience with Ruggedcom or other industrial networking equipmentCisco networking experienceWireless mesh networking experienceWi-Fi design, deployment, and troubleshooting experienceExperience evaluating vendor proposals and participating in infrastructure planning initiativesFamiliarity with operational technology (OT), intelligent transportation systems (ITS), surveillance networks, or other critical infrastructure environmentsWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a true hands-on engineer who enjoys getting into the details of network operations and architecture.
