Summer InternProvides basic clerical support, performs various office tasks, and provides general customer service within the assigned department or external organization. Essential functions include assisting with departmental assignments, supporting departmental projects, delivering excellent customer service, completing departmental tracking and reporting, interacting with colleagues, clients, and leadership, and performing other duties as assigned. May develop and apply career readiness competencies including critical thinking and problem solving, oral and written communication, teamwork collaboration, digital technology, leadership, professionalism work ethic, career management, global intercultural fluency.Must be currently enrolled in Tri-C, have a declared major on record, a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher, and be 18 years or older. Must complete a Summer Internship Application, and Confidentiality and Nondisclosure Statement, and successfully complete a pre-employment background check and/or drug testing. Must be enrolled during Summer Semester, and must have plans to register for classes in Fall Semester at Tri-C.Possesses basic knowledge of customer service concepts and practices, commitment to providing excellent customer service, organizational and time-management skills, sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population, and works accurately with great attention to detail.Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.This is a part-time non-bargaining unit position, with a set rate of pay of $15.45/hour. If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
