Mechanical Engineer Intern (Refrigeration Design)
This is a summer internship.Summary Of PositionThe internship provides Engineering & Project Management support for numerous projects and engineers. They report to the Manager of Refrigeration & Design and work closely with an engineering mentor. Internship requires travel several days a week to the Yarmouth, ME office.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist a Refrigeration Engineer with daily, weekly and monthly project activities consisting of, but not limited to, the following:AutoCAD design & analysisRequests for InformationSubmittalsDocument Control (changes, addenda, bulletins)Pre-op MeetingsAttend Subcontractor and Client MeetingsMaterial Delivery LogsOverall Project Administrative supportPunch listCloseout documentsAdditional ResponsibilitiesAttend OSHA training, as deemed necessaryAssist with material takeoffs/estimatingAssist with schedule updatesAssist with Cost Meeting prepAttend meetings and training sessions, as deemed necessaryEssential SkillsAutoCAD or CAD software familiarityBasic understanding of scheduling principles and logicDeveloping knowledge and understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencesAbility to learn Timberline PM SoftwareMicrosoft Office UtilizationGood written and oral communication skills, strong initiative, problem solving abilitiesQualifications3rd or 4th year engineering student; majoring in mechanical engineering OR electromechanical engineering.Has reliable transportation to work in Yarmouth, ME office.
