Product Engineer Company: Monogram Aerospace Fasteners Primary Location: 3423 S Garfield Avenue, Commerce, CA 90040 USA Workplace Type: On-site Employment Type: Salaried | Full-Time Function: Engineering Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Main Duties & Responsibilities Summary/Objective The Product Engineer is responsible for summary plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process in industrial plant by performing the following duties in compliance with safety and quality guidelines. Key responsibilities will include and may be required that are not assigned. Key Responsibilities: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confers with planning concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Competencies: To Perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following: Capability of planning, determining, and maintaining the optimal manufacturing methods, processes, and testing of fastener components and assemblies Basic understanding of forming, machining, assembly, and testing processes, including tool understanding for the various processes in fastener production Basic understanding of continuous improvement techniques Working from engineering design documents, procedures exercising a complete knowledge of set up, run time, feeds and speeds of major machine tools, tooling materials, etc. Good project management skills Good trouble shooting and analytical techniques to create an effective plan to solve problems systematically -Coordinates on a project basis with other departments, such as design engineering, production control, purchasing, etc. Trouble shoots problems related to manufacturing methods and processes. Provides technical guidance and assistance with production management and others on manufacturability, reliability, etc. Advanced solid works design experience. Should be able to create and manage large design tables Ability to read and work from engineering design documents, prototypes, and sketches Basic understanding of engineering design, GD&T, and configuration management, following the guidelines of ASME Y14.5 and AS9100 This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Commerce, CA location. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in engineering discipline. 2-3 years’ minimum experience in engineering Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety riles, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak efficiently before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and seal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Design software (solid works). Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
