Electrical Validation Engineer
The Electrical Validation Engineer will validate electrical infrastructure readiness for data center deployments, expansions, and operational handoffs. This role focuses on power distribution systems, standby generation, UPS systems, EPMS visibility, electrical commissioning evidence, energization readiness, turnover documentation, safety requirements, and operational handoff standards. Qualified candidates must be comfortable working within one of the following locations: Abilene, TX, Shackelford, TX, Saline, MI, Port Washington, WI, or Las Cruces, NM. Relocation assistance will be provided for selected out-of-market individuals.Key Responsibilities• Validate electrical readiness for new data centers, expansions, retrofit programs, infrastructure readiness milestones, energization activities, and operational transition activities.• Review electrical commissioning evidence, pre-functional and functional test records, integrated systems testing results, energization checklists, load bank test records, protective device settings, one-line updates, punch lists, and turnover packages.• Verify readiness of utility feeds, switchgear, transformers, generators, fuel systems interfaces, UPS systems, batteries, STS/ATS equipment, PDUs, RPPs, busway, grounding, lighting, and EPMS monitoring. • Support integrated systems testing, failure-mode testing, generator and UPS testing, load bank activities, transfer testing, alarm validation, and abnormal-condition readiness reviews.• Translate electrical validation requirements into checklists, acceptance criteria, readiness dashboards, issue logs, risk summaries, and leadership status reports.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE• 5+ years of experience in electrical validation, commissioning, facilities engineering, data center operations, electrical construction support, critical facilities, power systems, or mission-critical infrastructure delivery• Experience validating electrical systems in data centers, industrial facilities, colocation environments, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, or other high-availability environments.• Working knowledge of data center power distribution, redundancy, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, EPMS, grounding, energization practices, load bank testing, protective device coordination, and commissioning practices.
