Responsible for building the brand and an affluent book of business through high level influencers and industry relationships, the Outside Sales Representative –Trade is accountable for growing sales volume in strong partnership with the local market and the Emser Tile Trade platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesAccountable for developing a strategic sales plan to build market share with a focus on key Trade accounts, communicating these plans to the Regional Sales Manager, Branch Manager and Sr. Leadership.Identify and establish relationships with new and existing clientele through travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.Calls on key Trade relationships including General Contractors, Designers, Residential Architects, Custom Home Builders, Kitchen and Bath Designers and Design Build Firms.Leverage relationships within the Trade community to keep informed about their projects and to help create tile and stone specifications to Emser.Responsible for organizing and implementing Product Knowledge and CEU trainings with assigned accounts.Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager, Emser Showroom team and peers to develop strategies relating to Trade partnersWork with Product Development & Marketing teams to consistently communicate business and design trends, consumer and trade attitudes, competitive practices, and product performance characteristics.Attend and participate in trade and industry events (IIDA, IDS, NKBA, ASID, etc.) to increase client knowledge of Emser, keep up-to-date on the marketplace and competitive activity, and to cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts.Manages assigned budgets to approved guidelines to maintain existing business and increase sales.Investigate and implement innovative ways to market the Emser brand while networking to improve the presence and reputation in the market.Develop key initiatives to drive showroom traffic including events, product knowledge training and client appointments.Works independently yet cooperatively with the company and team's goals and directivesBuilds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needsEmphasizes new product promotion during sales calls and onsite visits/meetingsDevelops in-depth knowledge and expertise in regard to all Emser productsResponds to the marketplace by providing value through being a knowledgeable rep with quick follow upEmphasizes a deep understanding of sales, design and project managementQualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)5-7 years of inside/outside sales and/or business development experience with strong client service focusProven track record in sales, project management and designFamiliar with the local A&D community with strong connections within the industry and an established book of businessMust be self-motivated and possess the ability to time manage between multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyBe driven to meet sales goals and enjoy the upside of Emser’s variable compensation rewards programsThrive in a competitive and dynamic sales environmentBe flexible, highly organized and have a successful history of servicing multiple accounts while consistently achieving and exceeding sales goalsBe able to work independently while simultaneously implementing company defined sales strategiesAn expert in influential / collaborative sales and negotiation techniques, including analytical skills that can identify and exploit key opportunitiesExceptional communications skills, both verbal and writtenInstinctively address all customer questions and concerns promptly with business savvy solution / resolution strategiesSuccessful track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and goals in an outsides sales environment (preferably within the flooring or luxury building materials industry)Strong persuasion skills and the ability to influence othersSolid analytical skills in identifying client needs and aligning them to product offeringsDemonstrated expertise in the principles of collaborative sales techniqueExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with all Emser clients, customers and influencers (internal and external)Ability to analyze market conditions and competition and develop strategic responses to opportunitiesListening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and enduranceMust be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they ariseAbility to work independently and in a team environment is essentialCollege B.A. / B.S. degree preferredAbout EmserThe Emser Tradition of Excellence Comes From its People...Since its establishment in 1968, Emser Tile has become the leading supplier of the world's finest tile and natural stone.
