Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Structural SteelLocation: Richmond, VAJob Type: Direct HireSchedule: Day ShiftCompensation: Up to $85,000 annually, based on experienceTravel: 10-15% local travel required (mileage reimbursed)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Construction Project Manager with experience in structural steel to lead projects from initial planning through final delivery. This role is responsible for coordinating fabrication and installation efforts while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret construction documents, including structural drawings and shop drawings, to define project scopeCoordinate with fabrication teams, detailers, field crews, and contractors to ensure efficient workflowDevelop and maintain project schedules, adjusting timelines as needed to meet milestonesMonitor material procurement and delivery timelines to support project progressTrack project costs, manage budgets, and provide ongoing financial updates and forecastsEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policiesConduct site visits to evaluate progress, lead coordination meetings, and resolve field issuesManage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change ordersIdentify potential risks and implement solutions related to fabrication, scheduling, and installationQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication or erectionStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction specificationsFamiliarity with industry standards such as AWS and AISCExperience collaborating with fabrication shops, subcontractors, and field teamsProven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverablesProficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools/softwareStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience with Tekla Structures or Tekla PowerFabRole ImpactThis position plays a key role in delivering successful structural steel projects by ensuring coordination between shop and field operations, maintaining schedules, and supporting safe, high-quality execution.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
