Kitchen Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs. Supervise and train kitchen staff on food safety protocols, proper food handling, and culinary techniques to maintain high standards. Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, sales tracking, and cash handling with accuracy. Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours and slow periods. Enforce health and safety regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness across the kitchen area. Lead staff recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training & development initiatives to build a skilled team. Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery in casual dining or quick-service environments. Support budgeting efforts by controlling labor costs and managing operational expenses effectively. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, hospitality excellence, and professional growth. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management within fast food or casual dining settings. Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales transactions and reporting. Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams in a restaurant or hospitality environment. Familiarity with inventory control practices, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures. Ability to handle cash accurately while managing shift operations efficiently. Experience with staff training & development programs to enhance team performance. Knowledge of budgeting principles related to food service management and cost control strategies. Exceptional customer service skills coupled with effective communication abilities. Background in restaurant management or hospitality management roles with supervisory responsibilities. Experience working in fine dining or banquet settings is a plus; familiarity with catering services is advantageous.
