This role ensures full compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards by supervising the proper cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment and facility areas. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a Spanish-speaking workforce.
Sanitation OperationsSupervise nightly sanitation of production lines, equipment, and facility areas
Ensure cleaning and sanitizing procedures follow SSOPs
Verify correct chemical usage, dilution, and storage
Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure production readiness
Oversee proper disassembly and reassembly of equipment
Food Safety & ComplianceEnforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA (if applicable), and OSHA standards
Maintain sanitation logs and required documentation
Identify and correct sanitation deficiencies
Support internal and external audits
Implement corrective actions when necessary
Team LeadershipLead, train, and supervise sanitation team members
Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
Manage shift schedules, attendance, and performance
Promote teamwork, accountability, and efficiency
Safety & Risk ManagementEnforce safe chemical handling procedures
Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements
Investigate and document safety incidents
Maintain organized sanitation supply storage
Cross-Department CommunicationCoordinate with Production, QA, and Maintenance
Ensure smooth transition between shifts
Report sanitation status to management
QualificationsStrong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
Must be fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
Ability to work in wet, cold, and physically demanding environments
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working with sanitation chemicals
Ability to work PM/overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
