Basic knowledge of the machine process is required. Is aware of and responsible for process stability and quality. Is responsible for the effective and efficient use of the manufacturing facility and the quality of the output.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Primary/Essential:Responsible for loading and unloading stock stands and setting up splicers, slitters, marking systems and lasersMust be able to operate coater stations during the absence of the Coater OperatorResponsible for providing the production area with the proper raw materials listed on the work order as well as relocating and reporting the movement of said raw materials using the current reporting system (SAP)Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and ensures that it operated in a safe, productive mannerResponsible for performing preventative maintenance of equipmentMust be able to set up and operate equipment and machinery where ordinary adjustments are required, as well as clean, disassemble, and remove it at the end of a jobMust be able to perform manual tasks where accuracy is importantSet up and adjust delicate instruments as well as enter data into the designated databaseMust be able to operate fork truck equipment, powered and manual material handling equipment, and overhead hoistsResponsible for insuring equipment is maintained in a serviceable condition by conducting daily documented inspectionsPerform flow rate calculations based on percent solids to determine correct coating parametersExhibit departmental and plant leadership for meeting safety, customer service, and productivity goals, and the certification of peers.Required to meet Plant/Company guidelines for attendanceProperly label, package, and maintain all hazardous material in accordance with EPA requirementsPerform all required in process and release testing per SOP or special instruction, translate test results and corrections into a proper, understandable format, and record data electronicallySecondary:Coordinate input material deliveryParticipates in Safety/Housekeeping AuditsPerforms other job duties as assigned to meet business needsKey/Critical Competencies:Mechanical aptitudeStrong communication skillsComputer skillsEducation and Experience:High school degree or GED requiredThree (3) to twelve (12) months coating experience is required to achieve acceptable quality and quantity performance, Preferred or must be able to learn the role within the allotted time.Role:Possesses, and is able to communicate to their peers, product quality information using their judgement to interpret testing results as they apply to product functionality.Able to apply analytical skills to troubleshoot non-conforming product or processesAble to recognize hazardous situations and knows how to address said situations safely/properlyAble to exercise considerable judgement in prioritizing workload.Safety - proper protective equipment required/provided (steel toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, protective clothing - flame retardant smock, respirator, cut resistant gloves) as dictated by the work environment.
