Rooted in the traditions of America’s pastime, we operate with integrity, service, quality, and trust while striving to create an exceptional experience for our players, staff, and fans.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting core accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. This role plays a key part in retail and ticketing accounting, tax compliance, and event-related financial activities.This position will work extensively within the organization’s ERP system (Sage), supporting ongoing system optimization and playing a role in the upcoming migration to an upgraded ERP platform. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience working in ERP environments, and the ability to adapt to evolving systems and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord daily retail store deposits and monthly cost of sales entries within the ERP system (Sage)Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations for ticketing and retail operations (Rally Store and Authentics)Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments across multiple entitiesProcess ticket refund payments in coordination with the Ticketing DepartmentPrepare and remit sales and use tax filings (State of Colorado, City of Denver, and other applicable jurisdictions)Support accounting and financial tracking for concerts and other non-baseball events at Coors FieldAssist in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the ERP systemSupport system enhancements, process improvements, and testing efforts related to the upcoming ERP migrationAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerform balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysisProvide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionsSupport preparation of monthly and year-end financial reporting packagesAssist with year-end audits, including financial statement and revenue sharing auditsComplete vendor setup documentation, including W-9s and payment instructionsPrepare meals and entertainment reporting for tax complianceSupport other accounting, reporting, and finance projects as neededJob QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or combination of equivalent experience1–3+ years of accounting experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment preferred.Experience working within an ERP system (Sage, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar); experience with system implementations or migrations is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation functionsStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle confidential financial information with discretionEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionallyAdaptability and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processesWork Environment & ScheduleOn-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMOccasional overtime during peak periods and special eventsMinimal travel requiredPrimarily sedentary, computer-based workPhysical Job RequirementsMust be able to sit for extended periods; occasionally standing and walking.Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.Must be able to read screens, reports, and documents.Must be able to communicate effectively in person and via telephone.Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 15 lbs (files, office supplies, etc.).Must be able to traverse within an office environment, access file cabinets, and use standard office equipment.Must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to process large volumes of data.Salary RangeThis role will pay an hourly rate between $28.85 and $33.65 (equivalent to approximately, $60K to $70K annually). This is a regular-status, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.In addition to the base salary, the Club believes in providing a very competitive and generous compensation and benefits package for its employees.
