Job Description General Construction LaborerReports toForemanClassificationNon-ExemptJob purpose The General Construction Laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks, foundation repair projects, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning work sites, assisting skilled workers, setting up and dismantling scaffolding, digging trenches, and operating basic hand tools. Duties and responsibilities Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.Concrete demo and pick up of demo concreteMixing grout and/or concreteAssist in all aspects of construction workMaintains a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job sites each day to eliminate potential hazardsPreforms material handling and storageLoad and unload trucks and hauls and hoists materialsWorking from a swing stage on High- and Low-rise buildingsHave a strong commitment to safetyAbility to obtain security pass to federal job sitesValid Driver's License1 year of construction experience in Masonry work and/or Deep foundation is a plusOwnership of workGood Communication with crew, managers and customersAble to work from elevated platforms up to but not limited 10'Dependable & ReliableMust be able to listen and follow directions from ForemanAdhere to all Company protocols Pre-Employment RequirementsAll candidates must successfully complete the following steps after receiving a conditional offer of employment:· Drug Screening· Physical Fitness Evaluation· Background Check· Satisfactory attendance record with previous employer· Clean Driving AbstractFailure to complete or pass any of these requirements will result in disqualification from employment considerationSupervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Working conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Physical requirements · The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support overtime without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands). The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.· While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 20 – 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.· All candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening, physical test and a background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am through 3:30 pm, 40 hours per week or as required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand Required Education and ExperienceHigh school graduation, or its equivalent (GED)Working knowledge of construction practicesWork Authorization/Security ClearanceValid driver's license.Ability to obtain security pass to federal job sites.TravelTravel to and from site and to the store as expected for work.
