Customs Broker

Position Title: Customs BrokerThe Customs Broker will oversee all import-related documentation, classifications, and regulatory compliance to ensure the timely clearance of cargo through U.S. Customs. This role serves as the primary liaison with Customs and Border Protection (CBP), government agencies, carriers, and internal logistics teams, particularly for major cruise-line clients. The Customs Broker will also transition all brokerage work in-house, enhancing accuracy and operational control. This position demands effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high volumes of documentation in a fast-paced environment. Onsite availability in Opa-Locka, FL is essential, with flexibility required for overtime and weekend work.Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 / Yearly DOECustoms Broker Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and submit all import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and entry summaries, to ensure complianceAssign appropriate HTS codes and calculate duties, taxes, and fees for shipmentsCommunicate with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and other government agencies to facilitate timely cargo clearanceCoordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and internal logistics teams to maintain efficient cargo movementAdvise internal teams and clients on trade regulations and compliance strategiesMonitor shipment status, resolve clearance issues, and ensure compliance requirements are metMaintain organized records and electronic files in systems like ACEProvide responsive customer service, particularly for cruise-line clients with strict timelinesCustoms Broker Requirements:Active U.S. Customs Broker License is requiredExperience in customs brokerage or international trade with strong knowledge of customs regulations, HTS classification, and Title 19 CFR is requiredAbility to manage documentation and compliance with high accuracy and attention to detail is requiredStrong communication skills, both oral and written, for interaction with CBP, clients, and internal teams are requiredProficiency with customs systems/software and electronic filing platforms such as ACE is requiredAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and meet strict clearance timelines is requiredOnsite availability in Opa-Locka, FL with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is requiredBachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferredProficiency with customs software and systems beyond the basic requirement of using ACE is preferredKnowledge of end-to-end logistics operations, including maritime, OTR, rail, customs, and warehousing is preferredAbility to analyze costs, identify inefficiencies, and troubleshoot customs delays or shipment issues is preferredMultilingual ability is preferredAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel for tracking and reporting, are preferredExperience in a fast-paced freight forwarding or cruise-line logistics environment is preferredBenefits:Medical Coverage401k with employer matchPTO + Paid Holidays + Floating Holidays
