DESCRIPTIONThe Production Manager (PM) oversees the logistical and administrative elements of all live performances and events at PSNY, acting as the bridge between the artistic vision and technical reality, and managing the "onsite" phase of productions (rehearsals through show runs) across PSNY's four spaces. Additionally, the PM acts as Lighting Department Supervisor, managing the implementation of stage lighting in all engagements, drafting plots and onboarding lighting crew.Core ResponsibilitiesProduction Logistics & SchedulingCreate detailed, hour-by-hour production schedules for all of PSNY programming (Commissions, Rentals, Development and Recurring Programs) in collaboration with the DoP and Producer.Book overhire production crew for all events using the Lasso platformWhile the DoP handles Install/Strike, the PM owns the "Onsite" phase, including rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performance runs.Evaluate production-related scheduling clauses in programming contracts to ensure feasibility.Distribute daily crew calls and ensure production details are populated in the Werkbooks / Run of Show.Manage project-specific labor budgets and track production actuals through Ramp, Airtable, and Lasso.Compile weekly budget reports and update line-item variances.Assist the DoP in maintaining the Production General Budget and overall department tracking.Crew Management & Professional DevelopmentAct as the primary point person for hiring overhire staff (Designers, SMs, Tech Crew) via LASSO. Coordinate new-hire onboarding.Recruit, match, and manage Stage Management teams for all programs; oversee the distribution of Rehearsal, Tech, and Show Reports.Lead recruitment efforts for underrepresented communities. Foster a safe, inclusive work environment and coordinate professional development/certification programs for crew.Along with the Associate Director, co-manage the Production Apprentice, tracking their advancement through the Production Administration curriculum.Serve as the staff representative for the Lighting Department (L1/L2). Lead conversations with artists and incoming designers regarding LX implementation.Draft LX plots and paperwork; maintain the Rep Plot and oversee the restore process for each project.Track LX inventory and ensure the lighting storage area is maintained by the crew.Occasionally provide lighting designs for smaller-scale events and programs.Communication & WorkflowAct as the primary onsite point of contact to resolve technical issues during the production phase, coordinating with the DoP or Producer as needed.Join internal staff meetings and lead production meetings with commissioned artists to align on technical goals.Partner with Rental, Development, and Artist Services coordinators to staff events, draft groundplans for recurring events, and secure building access for guest crews.Key Qualifications:Working knowledge of all technical departments of Theatrical and Event ProductionAdvanced proficiency in drafting software (Vectorworks) and generating technical riders, groundplans, and theatrical lighting paperworkDemonstrated experience managing complex schedules and multi-space performance calendars.Strong financial skills with experience in budget tracking, labor actuals, and fiscal reporting.Extensive experience hiring and supervising diverse technical crews and stage management teams.Strong cultural awareness and match-making skills to create artistic teams with the right vibe.Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to non-technical artistic partners, and vice versa.Proven commitment to fostering equitable, safe, and inclusive work environments.Calm and decisive problem-solving skills during high-pressure technical rehearsals and live events.Willingness to work a flexible schedule including frequent evenings and weekends based on the show calendar.PSNY has many different types of events and artists, some of which fit into a standard theatrical model, and some which are anything but, so flexibility and the ability to adapt these processes to unique artist situations and diverse presentations is keyDURATIONSALARY$70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per yearJ-18808-Ljbffr
