Brief Description1st Shift Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianSummaryThis position is responsible for completing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting emergency maintenance problems on all production lines to include routine maintenance and repair of plastic extruders, blenders, and other related equipment.Valid driver' s license with clean driving record and proof of insurability required. MVR required to validate status.Work Schedule:7am to 3pm M-F. (Possibility of overtime during the week and potential weekends should a business need arise.)Responsibilities Troubleshoots machinery, dismantles equipment, and adjusts, replaces, or repairs defective parts Minimizes equipment downtime and lost production capabilities Performs necessary research of supplies, tools, and parts to complete work orders in a timely manner Helps keep an inventory of parts Assists with the upkeep of records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, etc. Operates forklift when needed Supports the RTP quality policy and customer satisfaction mission Follows safety and health guidelines when performing all dutiesOther duties as assigned.RequirementsSkills and AbilitiesMust have experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment in a manufacturing facility.Must have ability to follow equipment manuals and drawings to adjust, align, replace, or repair machinery and keep records such as work orders and test and maintenance reports Must have strong PLC and electrical skills Must be skilled with automation programming software Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Solid Works, and AutoCAD Must have ability to work overtime and weekends as neededMust have ability to work independently and solve problems with little directionMust have a positive attitude, be dependable, be flexible, and have excellent attendanceMust present a strong work ethicMust be able to work within established safety proceduresMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishEDUCATION And EXPERIENCETwo-year degree in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, or similar preferred; experience working in Industrial Maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of formal educationMechanical and electrical experience preferred; ideal Class “A” Master Electricians LicenseNFPA 70E Electrical Safety preferredForklift and Scissor lift experience preferredWelding experience preferredPrevious manufacturing experience Other Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
