With real products in the field, we're scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future.Location: Houston (hybrid) OR Atlanta (remote) with up to 40% travel to project sites as needed.Role OverviewThe EMS Deployment Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting Ignition-based Energy Management Systems (EMS) for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role plays a critical part in commissioning, ensuring reliable system visibility, control, data flow, and integration between EMS, PLCs, PCS, BMS, and site networks.Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy, configure, and support Ignition-based EMS/SCADA platforms for BESS projectsSupport commissioning activities including EMS bring-up, system integration testing, SAT, and early operational supportConfigure Ignition gateways, tags, UDTs, alarms, historian, and visualization componentsIntegrate EMS with Siemens PLCs, PCS, BMS, meters, protection relays, and site networksSupport data acquisition, control workflows, and site-level dashboards for commissioning and operationsTroubleshoot EMS, data, and communications issues under commissioning timelinesCollaborate closely with Controls Engineers, Network Engineers, Deployment Engineers, and Field Commissioning teamsSupport FATs, site commissioning, and handover to Service and Operations teamsAssist in developing standardized EMS templates, screen sets, tag models, and deployment proceduresReview and validate EMS documentation, configurations, and as-built deliverablesTravel to project sites during deployment and commissioning phases as requiredRequired QualificationsHands-on experience deploying and supporting Ignition (Inductive Automation) in OT or industrial environmentsExperience configuring tags, UDTs, alarms, historians, and visualization in IgnitionExperience integrating EMS/SCADA platforms with PLCs and field devicesStrong understanding of OT systems and industrial communicationsAbility to troubleshoot across EMS, controls, and networking boundariesComfortable working in fast-paced commissioning environments with evolving requirementsWillingness to travel to project sites as requiredDirect, hands-on Ignition deployment experience is required.Ability to travel to project sites 30-40% as needed.Preferred ExperienceExperience with utility-scale BESS, renewables, power generation, or substation environmentsFamiliarity with Siemens PLCs and Modbus TCP / IEC 61850 (high-level understanding)Experience supporting commissioning teams on live sitesKnowledge of OT cybersecurity fundamentalsExperience working with EPCs, OEMs, and customer stakeholdersWhat Success Looks Like (First 6-12 Months)Ignition-based EMS systems are deployed reliably across new BESS projectsCommissioning timelines are supported through stable EMS visibility and controlEMS-related issues are identified and resolved quickly during site bring-upEMS configurations become more standardized and repeatable across projectsField, commissioning, and service teams trust this role as the EMS authorityFor US-based roles - What you'll get:Competitive salary + annual performance-based bonus eligibilityMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysFor Mexico-based roles - What you'll get:Competitive salary + annual performance bonus eligibilityChristmas Bonus (Aguinaldo): 30 daysMajor medical expenses and life insurancePaid time off and holidays (per local policy)For all roles:Professional development and growth opportunitiesOpportunity to grow with a mission-driven team shaping the future of clean energyEqual Opportunity: ON.energy is committed to equal employment opportunity and to maintaining a work environment free of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation.Accommodations: If you need an accommodation during the application process, email recruitment@onenergystorage.comBenefits vary by role and location and are subject to change.
