Position Description: NewFields is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a background in Construction Materials Testing and Quality assurance oversight and experience working on Mining and Civil construction Quality Control and Quality Assurance projects. Candidate must be willing and able to travel for extended periods and be comfortable working on field sites, both domestically and internationally. This position requires the ability to work independently but also thrive in a collaborative environment. This position requires written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with staff personnel, clients, and vendors. An employee in this position is expected to work as a member of diverse project teams and accomplish specific tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Preform aspects of construction material testing for both field and laboratory testing on large scale projects. Be familiar with ASTM Standards, comprehension of field drawings and specifications. Manages a staff from one to five personnel. Liaison with the Engineers, clients, and contractors on site. Perform testing of materials including soils, aggregates, cement, and asphalt. Establish field work assignments and work priorities for field staff. Prepare accurate and professional daily observation reports of daily activities. Train of technicians on field and laboratory test and procedures. Requirements: Education: High School or GED equivalent. Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction materials testing is required. Computer Software: Position requires applicant to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Access, excel, word and outlook. Travel: Ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally to support field construction materials testing and oversite. Physical Demands: Position may require sitting for extended periods of time, extended hours working remotely on various field projects and lifting up to 50 pounds. Field assignments are located in a variety of climactic conditions and may require standing, squatting, bending, the use of machinery and a variety tools. Work Location: Elko, Nevada. Certifications or Training: ACI GRADE I, ACI Concrete Special inspector, WAQTC / NQAT, NICET Level III-IV, ICC special inspector training, Nuclear Density Gauge Training.
