Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Performance Engineer analyzes supplier performance data, leads root cause investigations, manages corrective actions, and conducts supplier assessments to ensure compliance with applicable standards and contract requirements. This role also supports the development of supplier performance metrics, risk mitigation strategies, and improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain reliability and protect program schedules. Through collaboration and technical engagement with suppliers, the Supplier Performance Engineer helps ensure that materials, components, and services consistently meet the demanding requirements of naval defense customers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze supplier performance trends using quality and delivery dataSupplier issue resolutionSupplier development and continuous improvementAudits and assessmentsCross-functional collaborationRoot cause analysis and resolutionSupport internal teams with interpretation of contractual supplier obligationsIdentify risks that could affect program schedule or build sequenceServe as a technical liaison between suppliers and internal engineering teamsClarify technical drawings, specifications, and requirementsWork with sourcing teams to identify alternate suppliers when necessarySupport evaluation and qualification of new suppliersEnsure new suppliers meet technical and compliance requirements before production (FAIR)Ensure suppliers understand and comply with contract flowdown requirementsLead regular supplier performance review meetingsTrack progress against corrective action commitmentsEscalate persistent performance issues to leadership when necessaryCANDIDATE PROFILEKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesManufacturing processes such as machining, casting (sand & investment), forging, welding, NDTSupplier performance metrics and monitoring methodsNonconformance management and corrective action processesQuality management systems (ISO / AS standards)Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specificationsInspection methods and measurement techniquesRoot cause analysis and corrective action managementData analysis and supplier performance trend evaluationNegotiation and conflict resolution with suppliersManaging multiple supplier issues simultaneouslyCoordinating cross-functional teamsAbility to diagnose complex supplier process failuresAbility to influence behavior without direct authorityAbility to balance technical requirements, quality standards, and delivery needsAbility to make sound decisions with incomplete informationEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or supply chain discipline.Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain performance roles, preferably within defense, aerospace, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.COMPANY BACKGROUNDCANDIDATE PROFILECIRCOR International is one of the world's leading providers of mission critical flow control products and services for the Industrialand Aerospace & Defense markets.
