Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrepare, heat and serve meals.Distribute and control the inventory client supplies, including the distribution of meals on all shifts. Ensures that food services meet health regulations and safety codes.Maintain cleanliness of the dining area: including, cleaning up after all meals .Understands weights and measures as it relates to portion control. Maintain the service and preparation areas in a clean and organized manner. Receive all incoming food deliveries, maintain the cleanliness and order of all food storage areas. Attend on-going training for all food service staff, this includes required trainings set forth from DOH and DHS.Participate in training and staff-development activities to acquire and maintain both the interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.Communicate effectively with other staff within an interdisciplinary context to contribute to the achievement of facility goals and objectives. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisory staff.QualificationsEducational and Experience requirements:High School Diploma or GEDMust have a valid NYC DOHMH Food protection Certificate or other NYC DOHMH approved food handling certificate.1-year experience working with homeless or special needs populationExcellent communication skills
