Bilingual Spanish Victim Advocate
Job Overview
As a Victim Advocate, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals who have been victims of crime or abuse. Your primary focus will be on helping victims navigate the criminal justice system, access resources, and begin the process of healing.
Duties
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to victims of crime or abuse
- Assist victims in understanding their rights within the legal system
- Help victims access necessary resources such as counseling, housing, and legal services
- Accompany victims to court proceedings and other appointments as needed
- Collaborate with law enforcement, social services, and other agencies on behalf of victims
- Advocate for victims' needs and rights within various systems
- Maintain detailed and confidential case records
Skills
- Strong crisis management skills
- Experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles
- Understanding of child welfare and protective services
- Familiarity with family law and conflict management techniques
- Background in social work or related field
