Cloud Engineer- DevOps

We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our professional services engineering team. You'll work directly with mid-sized clients to design, implement, and optimize AWS infrastructure solutions across multiple concurrent projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project execution skills, and client-facing communication abilities as you help our clients leverage the power of the cloud to drive business growth.This role has quarterly travel to our Rochester, NY HeadquartersKey Responsibilities:Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices across multiple client engagements simultaneouslyYou'll build CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment processes, and establish monitoring and observability solutions that enable clients to operate efficiently in the cloudWorking closely with solutions architects and project managers, you'll translate client requirements into technical solutions while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, and performanceCollaborate with client technical teams to implement DevOps best practices, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and provide knowledge transfer to ensure long-term successYou'll balance multiple project priorities, adapt to varying client environments, and contribute to our internal tooling and methodology improvementsYour work will directly support our AWS DevOps Competency and help clients achieve their digital transformation objectivesKey Required Skills and Experience:AWS Platform Expertise3+ years of hands-on experience with core AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and Systems ManagerStrong understanding of AWS networking, security groups, NACLs, and connectivity patternsExperience designing highly available, fault-tolerant architectures aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework principlesKnowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)Infrastructure as CodeProficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning and managementVersion control expertise with Git and branching strategiesExperience with workload migrations in AWSExperience in modernization of legacy applications to natively run on AWSAbility to create reusable, modular infrastructure codeCI/CD & AutomationHands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCIStrong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShellExperience with build tools and artifact managementUnderstanding of deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling updates)Working knowledge of Docker containerizationExperience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/EKS, ECS)Understanding of service mesh and microservices patternsFamiliarity with container security and image managementMonitoring & ObservabilityExperience implementing monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or DatadogLog aggregation and analysis using tools like ELK stack or CloudWatch Logs InsightsAbility to establish SLIs, SLOs, and alerting strategiesExperience with distributed tracing and application performance monitoringProfessional Services ExperienceDemonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneouslyStrong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience documenting technical solutions, runbooks, and operational proceduresComfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting prioritiesClient-facing experience with ability to build trust and credibilityPreferred QualificationsExperience with serverless architectures and event-driven patterns (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge)Knowledge of database administration and performance tuning (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)Familiarity with security scanning tools and vulnerability managementBackground in Agile/Scrum methodologiesPrevious consulting or professional services experienceContributions to open-source projects or technical communitiesExperience with cost optimization and FinOps practicesKnowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planningCertifications AWS certifications demonstrate commitment to the platform and are highly valued at Innovative Solutions.
