The Technical Service Trainer is responsible for training/instructing technicians in all aspects of generator repair and installation. The Technical Service Trainer applies technical skills and knowledge of start-up, operation and troubleshooting of all Generac products.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstruct/Train technicians in all aspects of generator repair and installation.Develop and present technical training curriculumWrite and review technical documentation such as owner, installation, diagnostic and flat rate manuals and service and training bulletinsEstablish warranty flat rates for new product prototypesWork with internal departments to fabricate training unitsWilling to obtain DOT drivers license (Non CDL) if neededOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent3 years field technician experience in HVAC, automotive, generator or similar discipline or 3 years combined field technician experience and technical training experiencePreferred QualificationsAssociates or Bachelor’s degreeCurriculum development experienceTechnician Excellence or ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certificationPrevious experience using SAP or equivalent ERPKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of MS Office to include: MS Word, MS Power Point and MS ExcelDemonstrated strengths in writing and presenting / instructing technical informationAbility to develop testing plansTechnical aptitude to do basic generator start up and troubleshootingAbility to deal with shifting priorities and moving deadlinesHighly organized and detail orientedFamiliarity with hand tools and test equipment
